What to see and do
Lake District Activities
This is the perfect base for exploring the Lake District, with Lake Windermere just a 15 minute walk away, or a short car or bus journey away to the delights of the English Lake District such as Ambleside, Grasmere, Keswick, Langdale, Hawkshead and Ullswater.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing break wandering around the beautiful Lakeland villages or something more adventurous such as walking, climbing or mountain biking you won’t fail to be enchanted by the Lakes throughout the year.
In the summer it is wonderful to enjoy the great outdoors but don’t forget the joys of flowers beginning to bloom in March and April and the brilliant autumnal colours in October and November.
December is great for Christmas shopping with lots of Christmas markets popping up in the local towns.
January and February often offer stunning winter scenery with snow capped mountains.
